synopsis
Alice and Frank move to a new flat in the country with their children. As their day-to-day life takes its course, Alice notices that Frank is worried about something. He only opens up to her gradually and the more he reveals about himself, the less Alice wants to know about the truth.

This is the story of an intense, inescapable confrontation between two spouses, as hidden secrets progressively come to light. In simple, but emotionally dense scenes, the film follows the everyday life of a family, which – initially almost unnoticed – gradually comes apart at the seams as Alice and Frank slide into a deep crisis after 18 years of marriage. Over the period of a year, the film shows the characters with their wishes and limitations. Their helplessness when faced with a truth that throws their previous life into turmoil: Frank feels more and more attracted to a man.
For her debut feature, Claudia Lorenz has worked with a highly distinguished crew and cast. In addition to award-winning co-author Rolando Colla, with female lead Ursina Lardi (TRAUMLAND, AKTE GRÜNINGER, DER VERDINGBUB, DAS WEISSE BAND), male lead Dominique Jann (DIE STANDESBEAMTIN, LUFTBUSINESS) and supporting male Antonio Buil (MILKY WAY, OPERATION LIBERTAD, COEUR ANIMAL) no less than three winners of the Swiss Film Prize are involved.

[event] DAVE PHILLIPS | SCHURER | KRUBE. | HACKLANDER \ HATAM – NK Berlin

http://www.nkprojekt.de/dave-phillips-bernd-schurer-krube-hacklander-hatam/

December 20th Doors 21:30 Concerts 22:00 Sharp!

DAVE PHILLIPS aka dp / BERND SCHURER / KRUBE. / HACKLANDER \ HATAM

Kindly supported by the INM

dave phillips/dp re/searches and ponders existences and behaviourisms humanimalistically via audio de/construction, psycho-acoustics and sonic rituals. sound as communication in direct and primal form, a tool of metaphysics, a conscience, an unrestrained language. sound as a means to activate primordial shared emotions otherwise hidden by civilised experience. dp’s work engages, invites existentialist rumination, demands awareness, endorses sentient and environmental e/quality and encourages intervention and responsibility; therapeutical aspects are acknowledged; a form of release is evoked, a liberating cleansing, a sound catharsis opposing the omnipresent reduction of existence, getting in touch with our sentient origins as with the realities of our times. dp rings in the era of humanimal.

dp’s humanimalism is a concept that describes a developed humanoid existence that has overcome the erroneous religious, material and supremacist phases of evolution, recognises itself as part of a whole and has grown into an empathic, conscientious creature that has learned to allow emotion to be an equal part in decision-making as the intellect, with social and environmental senses as primary and inherent functions.

sonic activist, composer, performer, researcher; solo-works as dave phillips/dp since 1987. part of SCHIMPFLUCH-GRUPPE since 1991.

founder of OHNE in 2000. co-founder of hardcore-extremists FEAR OF GOD in 1986. oneman-doom-project DEAD PENI since 2004. etc.etc.

Bernd Schurer

Bernd Schurer is a forward-thinking experimental multidisciplinary artist, musician and curator with a background that comes from conceptual art practices, noise, electroacoustic- and radical computer- music. His work discards all formal habits commonly associated to categorisation in favor of personal aesthetic idiosyncrasies. Particularly involved in the artistic research on psychoacoustics, spatialization and computational algorithmic art, he focuses on perceptual realizations of these phenomenological implications in his works.

Schurer (born 1970, Zürich, Switzerland, based in Berlin, Germany) studied Philosophy and Filmsciences at the University Zürich, and Fine Arts at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Lucerne. He has given a multitude of audio presentations and concerts internationally since the late 1980′s, as well as installation- and digital media artworks, most notably at Documenta 12 and the Venice Art Biennial 2007, as part of his long-standing collaboration with swiss artist Yves Netzhammer.
He established the independent music label “domizil” in 1996, which is now run by co-founder Marcus Maeder. Apart from having been a member of avant-drone-metal outfit “soil” and his current electronic music project “NN”, he is very active in film postproduction and composition for film.

Hacklander \ Hatam: drums and computer music duo.

When you stare into the abyss and the abyss stares back into you…

A complacent life is a failed life.

Destruction of Self for renewal of self.

Elusive efforts towards a realization of dynamic autonomy in order to achieve eventual practical implementation of meta-jurisprudence.

(The intelligent always remain uncertain.)

– – – –

Formed spontaneously in Moscow during New Years 2013, the duo’s first piece was WAR SOUNDS for the Ertz Festival #14 in Bera, Spain.
Before converging as a duo, they each performed solo: Farah performed solo works such as ‘Directions for Decomposition’ and Colin, solo works such as ‘Next time, die consciously.’

Since their first show, the duo has created a 67-hour long piece for internet radio streaming for transmediale.de; collaborated with Swedish programming guru Fredrik Olofsson; performed at the Bucharest Philharmonic alongside Dumistrescu & Avram; and composed a chamber piece for the Hyperion Ensemble International, which premiered in October 2014 at the Tectonics Festival in Tel Aviv and will soon be performed in Berlin by the zeitkratzer ensemble.

Farahnaz Hatam is an experimental sound artist and is highly active in the Berlin experimental scenes. As an artist working with digital sound synthesis in SuperCollider, her current work is not only interested in sound as sculptural material, but as the medium in which ideas are communicated. Over 15 years professional work as a molecular biologist, Farahnaz arrived at sound through the visual arts. She has shared bills with Mouse on Mars, Jan Jelinek, Mika Vainio, PRSRZ & Mattin. Recent festival performances include OpenSound Lisboa & London, ERTZ #14 & Teenitus at Festsaal Kreuzberg.

Colin M. Hacklander is a self-taught drummer & composer based in Berlin. He has toured extensively worldwide, and has drummed with Capillary Action (NYC), The Observatory (SIN), fly rich (US), worked with Scottish composer James Dillon, Senegalese sabar legend Doudou N’diaye Rose, Mark Ernestus’ Jeri-Jeri (Senegal), toured with Charles Hayward of This Heat, performed with Stephen O’Malley, Shahzad Ismaily and others. Hacklander currently works with Farahnaz Hatam, Martin Maischein, Iancu Dumitrescu, Ana Maria Avram, NU Unruh of Einstürzende Neubauten, Maurizio Vitale, Jan Tilman Schade, Robin Hayward, Hilary Jeffrey and others…

[event] steintag

http://www.journalfuerkunstsexundmathematik.ch/steintag_9-12-2014/

Contributions of the Artists, 9.
